Hello from LisaBeth Weber, Board member of Playing for Change Foundation.

It’s almost time for Playing for Change Day! There’s still time to participate, so read on, and if you’d like to make a donation, please click the donate link above this section.

PLAYING FOR CHANGE DAY was created in 2011 to unite the global community through the power of music. On Playing For Change Day, communities will gather as musicians and music lovers from all over the world to perform on stages, street corners, schools, yoga studios, and cafes all with the goal of bringing music into the lives of young people.

Last year Playing For Change Day resulted in over 200+ events in 48 countries on 6 continents, raising funds to provide instruments, music instruction, and inspiration for kids and youth – all thanks to dedicated individuals just like you. Your PFC Day fundraising efforts will help provide free classes in dance, instruments, languages, and music theory for children, instructed by qualified local teachers across 11 countries.

This day of music, peace, and change keeps instruments, music instruction, and inspiration flowing to children around the world. Your donation and/or participation contributes to a positive vibration that connects and inspires us all.

Dear music friends, both performers, venue folks, and colleagues. If YOU have a gig or event (or want to plan something) on/around Saturday, September 23rd, I’m putting out the call to ask you to consider registering it and making it an official PLAYING FOR CHANGE DAY event and being a part of this exciting GLOBAL DAY OF CHANGE all around the world. All you need to do is set up an account and/or click on PARTICIPATE (above) to walk through the process to create your own event AND THEN BE SURE TO LET ME KNOW SO I CAN HELP PROMOTE IT (see contact tab on this page). It can be as simple as piggybacking onto an existing gig, or hosting a house party, jam, community event, even a live concert from your living room, etc. To be clear, this is YOUR gig that you would simply be intertwining with Playing for Change Day. There’s a great toolkit here on the website where you can download posters, banners, etc., and include your specific event in the worldwide PLAYING FOR CHANGE DAY event listings. Last year we had hundreds of events in 50 countries all participating at once to bridge music, peace, and education through communities all around the world. It appears now more than ever, we need the unity that can happen through the sharing of music. Feel free to share this page with others who might be interested.

*** ANYONE I KNOW WHO PARTICIPATES: I’LL POST YOUR EVENT ON MY PLAYING FOR CHANGE DAY CHALLENGE WITH LINKS TO YOUR EVENT AND WEBSITE AND ALSO SHARE IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA ***

*** IF YOU WANT TO GET INVOLVED IN A NON-EVENT WAY, PLEASE DONATE (VIA THIS PAGE) TO HELP MY GOAL OF RAISING $1000.00 BY THE END OF SEPTEMBER. ***

Musicians and non-musicians alike can participate! Host an event at a location of your choice and promote artists in your community. If you’re a business owner, offer your venue (club, restaurant, café, business, or residence) to musicians or event organizers! If you plan on streaming your event, please let me know as I’ll be compiling a list! This website allows you to easily create, schedule and publish an event. Click HERE to register.
