September is the month to celebrate Playing For Change, one of my favorite organizations in the entire world. My dear friends in Playing For Change travel around the world making incredible compilation recordings of the world's most amazing musicians (who sometimes never even meet each other) and then turn around and create unbelievable music programs in places that need it the most. They are connecting children all around the world through music, and changing the world as they go. They teach tolerance, understanding, community, gratitude, and most of all... love.
It is my honor to join them in September and do my part in the form of my very first STAGEIT show! Stageit is a way to bring concerts into your home, and connect with an audience that might be scattered all around the world. Just like Playing For Change is helping people connect to form a global community, I'm going global, too!! It's pretty awesome. You don't even have to get out of your pajamas. Maybe I'll be in my pajamas. Shall we just commit to that now? Hmmmm. I digress...
On September 10th, I will do a personal concert from a little room somewhere in the world and the lovely folks at Stageit.com will beam it into your world via a new invention called "the internet" (not sure if that name is going to stick, personally, but whatever). It's super easy to log in and view - just click the button next to my name to get your tickets or more information.
It will be fun, I promise. And if it's not, you can just close the computer screen. I'll never know. Really a win-win for you if you ask me.
Hope to see you then!!
You are an official event creator for Playing For Change Day 2012! As you begin to plan your event you can add new updates to your event page. We are so excited to share this special day with you.
As a direct result of your leadership, children in communities around the world will continue to be able to learn music in ways they couldn't have without your support. What's more, thanks to your support, the children in our schools will continue to build connections and relationships across cultural and political boundaries, learning and sharing with one another and with the Playing For Change community worldwide.
